Welcome to my inaugural post of 2012. After much hard work, many late nights, and a small break in Japan, i'm back! Today I thought i'd look back over the purchase of www.greatscottgames.com and the re-design of our website.

Ever since Karl and I started off on our Great Scott adventure, we have believed that one day we would need to attempt to purchase www.greatscottgames.com. We always knew that it was taken and decided to start our project with the name we liked and the .co.uk domain. We knew that the urge to buy would come, and it recently did.

Buying a domain name is not something we had any experience of, but for us it was an altogether painless experience apart from the dent in the wallet. The owner was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning and the whole process was concluded in a few emails and a swift PayPal transaction. We are now the owners of www.greatscottgames.com. Having been on the Great Scott road for over 2 years, it's a great feeling to finally have it.

When our original site, www.gsgam.es, went up it was a reflection of our skill, both in terms of design and web programming, at that time. Our knowledge at Great Scott has increased since then and we felt the need to re-design our site to showcase our new found ability. We now have a site that is far more appealing aesthetically. We hope that our new design and domain name will keep us moving forward into the future for a little while (at least until the next design itch comes along).

Two final things to mention. First of all, many, many thanks to @mithralaya, my colleague and a friend of the Great Scott family, for all of his help with getting the new site up quicker than would have been the case without his expert help. Second, Great Scott is really looking forward to the hackathon london event in a few weeks time. We have plans to implement something a little different from the usual folly, so keep an eye out for that.
